What a Aster vault is

Aster's ALP is a multi-asset liquidity pool — a basket of BTC, ETH, BNB and stablecoins — that acts as the counterparty to traders on Aster's perpetual markets. Depositors hold ALP, whose price reflects fees, trader results and the basket's value.

There is one ALP per chain; we measure each from its on-chain price and verify the API figure against the contract.

Aster runs on BNB Chain and Arbitrum. Aster ALP (BNB Chain) has a 2-day withdrawal lock.

How we measure them

Returns are flow-adjusted: deposits and withdrawals are removed, so the curve shows what one share earned. Max drawdown is measured on that share value, not on the account balance. Every figure is recomputed every four hours from Aster's public data and the daily snapshot is hashed, so earlier figures cannot be altered afterwards. The method is the same for all eight platforms; details are on the methodology page.

What to watch on Aster

ALP holds crypto, so part of its return is the basket's price move. Compare it with other multi-asset pools (GM pools, JLP), not with USDC vaults.
