This policy explains what data this website processes, why, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG). Short version: no tracking cookies, no advertising networks, no profiling, nothing sold or shared.
1. Controller
Dominic Helmel, Salzburg, Austria · E-mail: hello@perpvault.com
2. Principles
This website sets no tracking cookies, uses no advertising networks and builds no user profiles. We process only what is technically necessary to serve the site, plus a privacy-preserving visit count described in section 7. We never ask for wallet connections, private keys, seed phrases or exchange API keys.
3. Server logs
When you open a page, the web server necessarily processes your IP address, the date and time, the address requested and your browser type. Purpose: delivering the page and defending against attacks. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Retention: 14 days, then deletion.
4. Hosting
The site is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, under a data-processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. All data stays within the European Union. No content-delivery network or other third-party delivery service is used.
5. Local storage in your browser
The site stores two things in your browser's localStorage: your choice of light or dark design, and your consent decision. This information never leaves your device and is used only for display. Legal basis: § 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021 (technically necessary); no consent is required for it.
6. Fonts
All fonts are served from our own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other third party for this purpose.
7. Visit statistics
To understand how the site is used, we count page views and a few clicks (for example on "I'd pay for history and alerts" or on links to trading platforms) with our own statistics running on our own server. No cookies are set, no IP addresses are stored, and no data is passed to third parties. To distinguish visitors within one day, a short hash is formed from the IP address and browser signature, mixed with a random value that is generated fresh each day and discarded at the end of it; after that the hash can no longer be linked to any person, and visits on different days cannot be connected. We additionally store the page viewed, the domain of the referring page (not the full address) and the device class (desktop, phone, tablet). Raw records are condensed to daily totals after 30 days. Legal basis: legitimate interest in improving the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You may object at any time (section 10).
8. Contacting us
If you contact us by e-mail or through the contact form, we process the details you provide (name, e-mail address, subject, message, and where given the vault concerned and the page you opened the form from) in order to handle your request. For form submissions we also store the time of sending and your IP address to detect abuse (bulk sending); the IP address is deleted after 30 days. The message is stored on our own server, where we read it; no third-party e-mail provider is involved in receiving it. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. Deletion as soon as the request is settled and no statutory retention duty applies.
9. External links
Links to trading platforms, block explorers and other third-party sites open those sites, which have their own privacy policies. We pass no data to them when you click; the referring address your browser sends is governed by your browser's settings.
10. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw any consent given. To exercise them, write to hello@perpvault.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb.gv.at, or with the supervisory authority of your own EU member state.
11. Changes
This policy is updated when the site's processing changes — for example before any paid tier or newsletter is introduced. The current version is always the one published here.
